iPadOS 15 - 8 New Features & Changes

In this blog, today I'm going to be show you more than 8 new features and changes found in iPad OS 15, beta one. So I'm going to be sharing some of the best new features and changes added with this new really underrated software release. And before we get into the new features and changes, I did just want to point out that all devices that were supported with iPad OS 14 are also supported with iPad OS 15. And that includes the original iPad pro and the iPad air two from 2014, which is crazy. That is seven years of software support, which is seriously just impressive. So now let us check out what is new here in iPad OS 15.

1. Homescreen Redesign

And the very first thing you'll notice right after unlocking your device for the very first time is that the today view is gone. There is no today view over on the left hand side, like we had an iPad OS 14. And if you swipe over, you'll see, we still do have some widgets right here, but it isn't the today view. And that appears to be completely gone here and iPad OS 15. But that's because we now have widgets on the house screen. So, this is huge. Of course, we have got widgets on the house screen for iOS and therefore the iPhone last year. And we do not know why it did not come to the iPad. But now with iPad OS 15, you'll see, we will add widgets to the house screen by simply tapping and holding on the screen, And you'll see, we have this fresh UI here for the widgets, and you'll see, we've all of our suggested widgets right here and therefore the middle. And then over on the left-hand side, we've a touch sidebar with the widgets we will choose between. And we also have a five new widgets. So, all of those are new here and iPad OS 15 and they all look great on the home screen.

2. App Library

If you go all the over to the proper , you'll see, we've an app library with a very cool little animation there, and you'll see it's actually coming from the dock. And that's because you'll also access the app library from anywhere on the screen. By simply tapping on the little icon down on the dock that indicates the app library. We have all of our applications categorized right on a app library. We even have the app library search bar where we will see all the applications you've got installed in alphabetical order. Now you can disable from the dock, if you want to. So you'll turn that on or turn that off. Of course it just doesn't appear, but a minimum of you are doing have the choice to enable that or disable that if you would like to. And then also i really like the very fact that we now can have newly downloaded apps, just attend the app library and to not the house screen.

3. Hide And Delete Page

So, in fact now, since, we do have the app library, meaning that we will now hide pages. So, you can see, when we go ahead and go into widget mode and tap on the little page icons down, you can see we can hide pages and you can also move these pages around as well. So, if you would like it to reorder your pages really quickly, you'll do so, a bit like this. And of course, if you want to hide the pages, you can just uncheck them right there, tap on, done and go out of this. And you'll see that you simply just have the one page right there and to urge them back and forth, to only enter here and check them off again, you'll notice that you can also delete entire pages and that will send all of those applications back to the app library.

4. Quick Notes And Screenshot

Now, if you've got an Apple pencil, you'll get a replacement feature called quick note, a number of your head and take my Apple pencil off the highest right here. And if it go ahead and drag up from the bottom, right, you will see, quick note interface right here. So, we pull abreast of the left-hand side with our Apple pencil. You can see that is what takes a screenshot now. And we also have some UI changes, inside of the markup section. So, these are both changed right here. And also inside markup section, we have some minor UI changes as well, but nothing major, but anyways, quick note is really cool because you're able to do, you know, obviously, you'll write things down really quickly, but you'll also drag things in to those quick notes. So, for example, if I go into, let's just say Safari, and you'll notice that when I started scrolling inside of Safari, that the little quick note went off to the side, but we will just simply tap right here to urge it back. And it could see there's little prompts right that says add links. 

5. Pencil Gesture

If you go into our settings, then go to Apple pencil, you could see that you actually now get pencil gestures inside of the setting. So, this is often often new and it shows left corner swipe and right corner swipe. So, you see a screenshot and quick notes. Now, unfortunately you'll only either toggle that on or off. You cannot switch these two which will are available a future updates, except for now, these are stuck on the proper and therefore the left.

6. Low Power Mode

Now, if we go back into settings and go to control center, you will notice that we have a new toggle in iPad, iOS 15 for low power mode. So, low power mode is finally now on the iPads. So, you'll access this through the center. You can just simply tap thereon and it'll turn your battery yellow to point you're in low power mode. You can also get to the present by getting to your settings battery, and you'll see low power mode up top. So, that's now available for the iPad.

7. Settings UI Change

Also inside of settings, you will notice that these sections take up more realistic than they have before. So, they're not as small. The sections right here are just not as compact. So, it could see it side by side with iOS 14. And it's kind of strange because at iOS15, compared to iOS 14, it got smaller, but an iPad OS 15, the settings, are got bigger.

8. New Way To Multitask

Now, while we have been going through different applications, you might have noticed three little dots up at the top of window. And that is actually a major part of iPad OS 15 because that was going to be the new way to multitask. So, if we tap on those three dots up, you will see that we get three different windows. So, we have a full screen, we have a split screen, and then we have a slide overview.
